The NetSuite Open will once again feature a number of the world’s leading male and female players when the highly-anticipated tournament takes place between Tuesday September 27 – Saturday October 1 in a specially constructed outdoor arena on Justin Herman Plaza, San Francisco.

World Champion Gregory Gaultier is seeded first in the Men’s tournament where he will aim to win his third NetSuite Open crown and a share of the $100,000 prize fund.

The World No.2, known on Tour as the ‘French General’, had an inauspicious start to the season after bowing out of the Hong Kong Open at the second round stage to Fares Dessouki in what was his first defeat to the Egyptian.

However, a runner-up finish at the China Open earlier this month – where he lost out to World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy – saw a return to form for the 33-year-old, and he will be the favourite to add to the NetSuite Open titles he captured in 2012 and 2014.

Seeded to meet the Frenchman in the final is England No.1 and last year’s runner-up Nick Matthew, who makes his first appearance of the 2016/17 campaign.

Gaultier, meanwhile, also has a number of battles to get through if he is to fulfil his seeding. A victory against Indian No.1 Saurav Ghosal in round one would set him up against either Hong Kong Open semi-finalist Max Lee or compatriot Mathieu Castagnet in the last eight.
